Which Digigram Cards can I use with Maximum ? |
 |
It is recommended not to use the old digigram cards PCX11+, instead we recommend the digigram cards VX 222.V2. |
 |
The OnAir plays the audio files, but not to the end and skips to the next file. |
 |
This problem appears with digigram audio cards (e.g. VX222V2) and mp2 files.
Check the digigram’s cards driver: in Control Panel/multimedia/Audio.
You have to select Sound playback default device VX222v2 Audio Card (WDM), that means it will use the Direct Sound.

What are the send commands most useful ? |
 |
In the commands frame you can enable the relatives GPO opto coupler.
TA: sets an opto when in a news program was set on the Traffic Announcement for the rds.
External Open: sets an opto every time the satellite icon, waiting for a bit, appears on the top of the OnAir window. (the satellite icon makes understanding to the user that he can push the start button and go onair)
If the start/stop bit for an external is given manually, the user that have to give this command needs to know when the OnAir is listening for this command.
The opto set in External Open shows when this command can be executed. The External Open is active for all the time the Onair is in listening mode.
Muting: sets an opto when the playing song is on the intro or outro index (it is helpful when you have to know exactly when to switch of the speaker’s microphone).
PFL: sets an opto when you click on cue or when you open the cue windows. This opto is connected to a Mixer console and the user without clicking PFL button of the cue channel.

Why OnAir doesn’t play the last frames of some audio files ? |
 |
You have to update the Sound Blaster drivers, matched to Windows XP sp2. |
 |
Why does the OnAir play some mp3 audio files without sounds, and the same files plays regularly with the Recorder, OnAir’s cue and OnAir’s Jingle Palette ? |
 |
Possible solutions:
- You can edit these files with an editor and newly import them in maximum.
- You can check if these files have silence at the beginning and cut it or change the IN index. In some cases there is since 1 sec silence.

How to use the Just in Time cluster:
 |
Have I always to select a base for the Just in Time ? |
 |
No, the base is optional. If you don't select the base the time announcement will play onair simply and the Scheduler's playlist shows the item Just in Time. |
 |
What is the Just in time delay ? |
 |
It's the delay you will hear the time announcement on the base.
Be careful! If your time announcement's length is 3 sec and the base's length is 5 seconds, the delay can be maximum 2 seconds, otherwise your time announcement will cut at the end.
|
Overlayed songs:
 |
How do overlayed songs work ? |
 |
Scheduler's playlist shows the overlayed songs in italics.
In the OnAir's playlist the start time is the same as the song's to overlay start time, and the duration will not be displayed |

Why can I not import and/or record audio files ?
the Recorder module returns the error message disk full or Network error. |
 |
You have to check :
- Check if in Recorder Setup disks is set the correct path.
- Check if the disk is full, if it is you have to add a new one in the Recorder Setup disks.
- Check that the disk is accessible from your PC.
- Or you can copy the temporary audio file C:\MxmAudio.ext (or C:\Documents and Settings/[user]/local settings/Temp/MxMAudio.ext) and import it.
- This error occurs also in this case:
- You insert a New Song, without audio. You insert only the data and then you save.
- In another moment you will modify this song and insert the audio (import, grab or record) when you try to save, it returns “disk full or network error”.
- You have to delete the song without audio.
- Open a New one and insert data and audio then save.

How to know the necessary disk space for 90 days recording ? |
 |
At the lowest recording quality (8Kbps mono) for every recording day and for each area, the necessary disk space only for the audio is 82.4 MB.
90 days recording audio needs 7.24 GB disk space.
Obviously, you need more disk space for service data, so you need 10 GB for one area 90 days recording.
Nota:
The settable resolutions have a range from 8 Kbps mono to 320 Kbps stereo.
If you need to existiamate the audio’s used disk space at the different resolutions, here you have the formula:
Kbps * 10.3 = MB daily needed disk space.
e.g.
for the lowest resolution
8 * 10.3 = 82.4 MB daily. |

When I run a Maximum module, I will asked to connect to the database, but also if I choose the correct connection the programs don’t run. |
 |
- Check if the Maximum.mdb file is not read only.
- Check if in the Registry is saved the correct database path, if not you have to delete it.
- WARNING this operation should be performed by the System Administrator.
- Runà regedit
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\\AEV\Maximum\Version1.0\Licence delete Database,
- then you have to run again a Maximum module newly insert the database path, and now it will be saved.

Why sometimes Maximum modules close suddenly ? |
 |
There can be micro network breaks, consequently the modules cannot more see the dongle.
- Check if the Firewall is OFF (if it is possible, at least for the Key Server)
- Check the lan
- Check the users that need to access the Server (Key Server), it could be a Permissions problem.
|
 |
Why nothing happens when I run a Maximum module ?
|
 |
Maximum module cannot communicate with the dongle. Check the followings:
- The dongle is inserted into the USB port of the Key Server?
- Smartkey driver are correctly installed and Smartkey service is started (see Smartkey driver installation and Smartkey Server configuration)?
- Is the Key Server on and accessible in the network?
- Run in the Client PC scc.exe à Multilan Client and check the inserted Key Server’s TCP-IP address?
- Switch OFF the Firewall on the Key Server, or add the Port 20000 in the Firewall Exceptions.
- If the Key Server has a Windows Server 2003 OS, all the Client PC should be qualified read and write users for the Key Server.
